Dear Colleagues,
I am very honored and happy to invite you to the 5th International Koru Pregnancy, Birth and Postpartum Congress, which will be held in Bolu on 17-20 February 2022.
The starting point of our congress was to share scientific studies focusing on more participatory and multidisciplinary interpretations and to produce a common mind in order to be able to more accurately evaluate our current approaches in medical disciplines and social areas, including newborn health, in terms of pregnancy, birth and puerperium.
Last year, the 4th International Pregnancy, Birth and Postpartum Congress was held successfully with the contribution of you, our valued participants, with volunteerism devoted to science and education.
In the scientific sessions where important exchanges were made, we had the opportunity to share important issues such as birth in Turkey and in the world, increasing cesarean section rates and its effects on society, physical space and personnel problems, failures in the systematic and symmetrical application mechanisms of hospitals, knowledge and skill levels, attitudes, working conditions of health personnel, mother-baby friendly hospital concept within the framework of multi-sectoral and high-level cooperation.
Thanks to its multidisciplinary approach, the 5th International Koru Pregnancy, Birth and Postpartum Congress, with its scientific and social program enriching every year, is an important opportunity for you to meet, learn and communicate with scientists who have a say in their fields with their national and international studies, accompanied by the latest information.
A rich scientific program content has been prepared for our “5. International Pregnancy, Birth and Postpartum” Congress with the contributions of the Obstetrics, Perinatology, Neonatology, Pediatrics, Pediatric Neurology, Genetics and Public Health disciplines that support the Inherent Birth Association and the congress organization.
Globally, 70% of the health and social workforce and 41% of all employment sectors workforce is female. Nurses and midwives make up 50% of the global health workforce. In this direction, midwifery and nursing professions represent a significant part of the female workforce. In addition, empowering Midwives and Nurses, who have a valuable profession that has a very important place in the quality of initial evaluation, care and treatment, in order to achieve improved health outcomes, is an important step in achieving gender equality (SDG5), contributing to economic development (SDG8) and achieving other Sustainable Development Goals. On this occasion, as in our other congresses, this year, we will emphasize that we should start from here in order to maximize the potential in creating effective evidence-based midwifery and nursing workforce development through continuous professional development. Important courses and scientific talks will take place in our congress with experts from abroad who have very important midwifery studies.
Our expectation is to provide development towards effective leadership, management and improvement of management.
I have no doubt that our congress will send you off with unforgettable memories like every year. You will have the privilege of hosting Bolu Koru Hotels Spa and Convention. The Congress Hotel will host our scientific studies in Bolu, the heart of nature, right in the middle of the Istanbul and Ankara transportation axis, with its 5-star service concept, completely renovated in 2018, with its peaceful atmosphere, intertwined with nature, and its magnificent location.
The current conditions regarding the Covid 19 epidemic allow us to physically host our congress participants at certain rates. Taking these conditions into account, in the absence of any restrictive changes regarding the epidemic process and in line with your requests, our congress will be held in "Hybrid" congress format on 17-20 February 2022 at Bolu Koru Hotels, face-to-face as well as online with live broadcast. With this format, our speakers and participants can participate face-to-face, and those who wish can participate online.
I hope that our congress, which adopts the principle of strengthening the bridges between health professionals and is on the way to becoming traditional, attracting attention with its rich and colorful social program, will contribute to all these purposes, health services and birth understanding in our country.
Respectfully,
Prof. Dr. Aydan Biri
